VICTORIA II MODS STEAM MOD

So, in a quick summary, the best mods that i would recommend are HFM for overall overhaul, DoD for alt-history and CWE for cold war/modern era.Īs a side note, there was also this very ambitious project of a mod that would have the world playable from the 17th century onwards, but i don't know what happened to it.C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Victoria 2 I find CWE to be better as it has the better events and NWO changes states quite a bit (at least last when i played it) where for territorial accuracy there are a lot of different new states for Yugoslavia to make the war more territorially "authentic", but it sacrifices countries like France by not leaving them with enough states (especially visible in industry as the game is hardcoded to allow max 8 factories per state). There are two modern day/cold war mods out there, CWE and NWO. The best alt-history mod is Divergences of Darkness, mainly because it's really fleshed out and uses one of the bigger overhaul mods (PDM) as it's basis. I find HFM to be superior to PDM, but i don't think it's available here as the German and Russian fascist flags have a swastika and the controversial genocide event (easily modded out if you don't want them). There are also other mods that are of decent popularity but these are the most note-worthy and my recommendations PDM - Massively overhauls the economy aspect of the game with some other fine details too, like the First Minister.Ĭoncert of Europe - PDM that starts in 1821, giving you 15 more years of funĭivergences of Darkness/DOD - Alternate History mod, with changes to the timeline like England winning the 100 years war, Castille and Portugal uniting instead of Aragon, United Scandinavia etc. HPM isn't present on these Forums though, something about the Nazi Swastika. HPM/HFM - Focuses mainly on history, with HPM currently focusing on fleshing out alt-history while HFM focuses on deepening the history itself. Fun experience, runs very smoothly compared to most other mods Minimalist mod - Vanilla with some tweaks and upgrades. Otherwise, you will be listening to nothing but silence.Ĭlick to expand.Really? Why is the music coded like that and how did said coder do that?Īs for OP, first play a couple of games without mods/Vanilla. If you happen to not like that music, then take another piece and rename it. The filename "thecoronation_titletheme.mp3" absolutely, positively has to exist for the music to play properly in the game. I've always played vanilla V2.Īnd, yes, there are threads about V2 music.īut let me save you a lot of headache right now. I would recommend you play vanilla for a while since the wiki is primarily written with vanilla in mind. But it's still not a bad practice to get into until they finally successfully upgrade. Older posts will be refreshed to visibility, if necessary.Īlthough as I'm typing this I realize that I don't seem to be having the vanishing thread syndrome today. Problems can be hashed out by checking out the Tech Support forum. Well, questions about mods are in the User Modifications sub forum (including music).
